Type catalog: Blanc 1962:215 [ref. 20868], Walschaerts 1987:34 [ref. 20755], Derijst 1991:52 [ref. 21528]. •Valid as Neolamprologus sexfasciatus (Trewavas & Poll 1952) -- (Maréchal & Poll 1991:290 [ref. 20946], Schelly et al. 2003:3 [ref. 27431], Konings 2015:248 [ref. 34660], Konings 2019:263 [ref. 36983]). Current status: Valid as Neolamprologus sexfasciatus (Trewavas & Poll 1952). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: southern Lake Tanganyika. Habitat: freshwater.
