caudimacula, Haemulon Cuvier [G.] 1829:176 [Le Règne Animal (Edition 2) v. 2; ref. 995] Havana, Cuba. Holotype: MNHN 0000-7774 (Parra's specimen). Type catalog: Bauchot et al. 1983:36 [ref. 21546] dating to 1830 reference with holotype as MNHN 7763 from Brazil, but if dated to 1829 then that specimen is not a type. Available from footnote as, "Haem caudimacula, N., ou uribaco, Margr. 177; et Diabase de Parra, Desm." Also in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1830:236 [ref. 999]. •Synonym of Haemulon parra (Desmarest 1823) -- (Courtenay 1961:89 [ref. 21095] as parrai, Parenti 2019:160 [ref. 37021]). Current status: Synonym of Haemulon parra (Desmarest 1823). Haemulidae: Haemulinae. Habitat: marine.
