Current status: Valid as Pomadasys ramosus (Poey 1860). Haemulidae: Haemulinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Mexico and Cuba south to Brazil, including Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
