Name unjustifiably emended to goldmani by Bleeker 1859:35 [ref. 371] even though the correct name of the collector was Carel Frederik Goldman (1800-1862). •Valid as Johnius goldmani (Bleeker 1855) -- (Trewavas 1977:440 [ref. 4459]). •Synonym of Johnius borneensis (Bleeker 1851) -- (Sasaki 1999:275 [ref. 24049], Kottelat 2013:358 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2020:20 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Synonym of Johnius borneensis (Bleeker 1851). Sciaenidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
