heinii, Sciaena Steindachner [F.] 1902:317 [Anzeiger der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften, Wien, Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Classe v. 39 (no. 24) (art. 76); ref. 14894] Quishn [Gischin], Yemen. Holotype (unique): NMW. Illustrated and described in detail in Steindachner 1903:141, Pl. 1 (fig. 4) [ref. 15046]. Type status: Steindachner 1902, ref. 14894 does not mention a number of specimens, but the description only refers to a single specimen. Steindachner 1903, ref. 15046 explicitly lists a single specimen, 41.5 cm TL. •Doubtful species, placement uncertain -- (Trewavas 1977:450 [ref. 4459], also with a holotype). •Valid as Argyrosomus heinii (Steindachner 1902) -- (Randall 1995:229 [ref. 22896], Sasaki 1996:86 [ref. 22156], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S110 [ref. 27377], Psomadakis et al. 2015:272 [ref. 34104], Ali et al. 2018:331 [ref. 36183], Eagderi et al. 2019:100 [ref. 37020], Parenti 2020:4 [ref. 37439], Sasaki 2022:393 [ref. 39862]). Current status: Valid as Argyrosomus heinii (Steindachner 1902). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Northwestern Indian Ocean: southern Arabian coast to Persian Gulf. Habitat: marine.
