griffini, Amia Seale [A.] 1910:117, Pl. 2 (fig. 2) [The Philippine Journal of Science, Section D v. 5 (no. 2); ref. 14595] Bantayan Island, Philippines. Holotype: BSMP 5701 (apparently destroyed). Paratypes: BSMP 5696 (1) and 5698 (1) (apparently destroyed). •Valid as Apogon griffini (Seale 1910) -- (Allen 1997:108 [ref. 23977], Allen 1999:2606 [ref. 24812], Allen in Randall & Lim 2000:613 [ref. 25122], Allen 2000:100 [ref. 25868], Allen & Randall 2002:122 [ref. 26188]). •Valid as Ostorhinchus griffini (Seale 1910) -- (Allen & Erdmann 2012:393 [ref. 31980], Mabuchi et al. 2014:200 [ref. 33426] as junior to urostigmus, Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:126 [ref. 36965], Allen & Erdmann 2024:419 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Ostorhinchus griffini (Seale 1910). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Kalimantan (Indonesia), Brunei, Sabah (Malaysia) and Philippines. Habitat: marine.
