Syntypes: RMNH 2517 (1), 2518 (1), 16411 [ex RMNH 2517] (1). Type information: Roberts 1993:16 [ref. 21799]. Perhaps available as, "The genus Hampla Nob. comes nearest to Leuciscus Cuv. but differs in having 2 filaments at each corner of the mouth; the species is figured under the name Macrolepidota Nob. and occurs near Buitenzorg" [translation from Alfred 1961 [ref. 20553]].
