Holotype (unique): USNM 55907. •Valid as Apogon jenkinsi (Evermann & Seale 1907) -- (Allen 2001:147 [ref. 25670], Allen & Adrim 2003:35 [ref. 26830], Allen et al. 2006:1090 [ref. 29004]). •Valid as Ostorhinchus jenkinsi (Evermann & Seale 1907) --- (Allen & Erdmann 2012:395 [ref. 31980], Mabuchi et al. 2014:200 [ref. 33426], Fricke et al. 2019:135 [ref. 36673], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:96 [ref. 36965]). Current status: Valid as Ostorhinchus jenkinsi (Evermann & Seale 1907). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia east to New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), north to Philippines, south to Great Barrier Reef (Australia) and New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
