Current status: Valid as Micropogonias megalops (Gilbert 1890). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern tip of Baja California Sur (Mexico) south to Honduras, including Gulf of California (Mexico). Habitat: brackish, marine.
