Based on multiple sources, including the 'Croker' of Catesby 1743:3, Pl. 3, fig. 1 (v. 2) [ref. 774] ['Chesapeak' Bay, Virginia], the 'Croker' in manuscript description, and 2 specimens sent by A. Current status: Valid as Micropogonias undulatus (Linnaeus 1766). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
