Lectotype: ZMA 101329. Paralectotypes: ZMA 101328 (1), 101330 (1). Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:86 [ref. 19236]. Two syntypes are S. tubifer -- (Gon & Allen 2012:72 [ref. 31960]). •Valid as Siphamia tubulata (Weber 1909) -- (Paxton et al. 1989:558 [ref. 12442], Hayashi et al. 1994:2 [ref. 24343], Allen 1999:2608 [ref. 24812], Nakabo 2000:751 [ref. 25086], Hutchins 2001:32 [ref. 25847], Nakabo 2002:751 [ref. 26001], Allen & Adrim 2003:37 [ref. 26830], Allen et al. 2006:1109 [ref. 29004], Yoshida et al. 2010:58 [ref. 31255], Motomura et al. 2010:113 [ref. 31256], Gon & Allen 2012:75 [ref. 31960], Mabuchi et al. 2014:201 [ref. 33426], Mabuchi et al. 2015:45 [ref. 34429], Fraser & Prokofiev 2016:229 [ref. 34742]). Current status: Valid as Siphamia tubulata (Weber 1909). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Papua Barat Province (Indonesia), Papua New Guinea and Australia (Queensland). Habitat: marine.
