Type catalog: Bertin 1948:39 [ref. 19577]. •Valid as Distichodus hypostomatus Pellegrin 1900 -- (Daget & Gosse 1984:189 [ref. 6185], Vari 2007:419 [ref. 30023], Mamonekene & Vreven 2008:97 [ref. 29866], Fermon et al. 2022:143 [ref. 39448], Musschoot 2024:336 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Distichodus hypostomatus Pellegrin 1900. Distichodontidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Ntem, Ogowe, Nyanga and Kouilou rivers (Gabon). Habitat: freshwater.
