lateoides, Otolithus Bleeker [P.] 1849:16 [Verhandelingen van het Bataviaasch Genootschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen. v. 23 (no. 5); ref. 16906] Jakarta, Java, Indonesia. Syntypes: RMNH 5990 (3). Appeared first without distinguishing features in Bleeker 1845:523 [ref. 312]. Also in Bleeker 1850:98 [ref. 16888]. •Valid as Pterotolithus lateoides (Bleeker 1849) -- (Trewavas 1977:357 [ref. 4459] with a holotype in RMNH 5990, Talwar 1995:66 [ref. 25194], Mohsin & Ambak 1996:378 [ref. 27969], Sasaki in Randall & Lim 2000:621 [ref. 25122], Sasaki 2001:3172 [ref. 26108], Kottelat 2013:360 [ref. 32989], Habib & Islam 2020:Supplementary table p. 27 [ref. 38321] misidentified, Parenti 2020:48 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Valid as Pterotolithus lateoides (Bleeker 1849). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia, Malaysia and Borneo. Habitat: brackish, marine.
