Current status: Valid as Distichodus notospilus Günther 1867. Distichodontidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Ogooué and Ntem River basins, Lower Guinea (Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Gabon); lower and middle Congo River basin (Democratic Republic of Congo). Habitat: freshwater.
