Distribution: Red Sea, Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, South Africa, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mascarenes and Persian Gulf east to Philippines, north to southern Japan, south to Rottnest Island (Western Australia) and Tuross River (New South Wales, Australia). Habitat: brackish, marine.
