Type catalog: Henn 1928:95 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:26 [ref. 12367] as 4 from 3 localities, but specimens from 2 localities are not types. •Valid as Nandopsis gephyra (Eigenmann 1922) -- (Burgess 2000:48 [ref. 24818] as gephyrum). •Valid as Cichlasoma gephyrum Eigenmann 1922 -- (Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:623 [ref. 27061] as incertae sedis in 'Cichlasoma', DoNascimiento et al. 2017:99 [ref. 35633]). •Valid as Mesoheros gephyrus (Eigenmann 1922) -- (Říčan et al. 2016:29 [ref. 34357]). Current status: Valid as Mesoheros gephyrus (Eigenmann 1922). Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: Pacific slope of Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
