Paratypes: USNM 77324 (1), 152884 (3). •Valid as Prionotus nudigula Ginsburg 1950 -- (Miller & Richards 1991:760 [ref. 15981], Andreata & Séret 1996:585 [ref. 16204], Piacentino 1996:8 [ref. 25655], Cousseau & Perrotta 2000:90 [ref. 25942], López et al. 2002:64 [ref. 26808], Moura & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:74 [ref. 27192], Mabragaña et al. 2011:table S2 [ref. 31800], Costa et al. 2015:1061 [ref. 37495], Nión et al. 2016:45 [ref. 35565] with author as Guinsburg, Spier et al. 2018:9 [ref. 36103], Ribeiro et al. 2019:8 [ref. 36717]). Current status: Valid as Prionotus nudigula Ginsburg 1950. Triglidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: southern Brazil south to Argentina. Habitat: marine.
