Paralectotypes: (60) BMNH 1935.6.14.1911-1919 (10), 1935.6.14.1920 (1), 1935.6.14.1886-1895 (11), 1935.6.14.1899-1909 (17), 1935.6.14.1921-1930 (9); MNHN 1937-0222 and 0223 [ex BMNH] (2); NMW 25584-85 (1, 1); plus other syntypes. Type catalog: Blanc 1962:210 [ref. 20868]. Lectotype selected by Eccles & Trewavas 1989:306 [ref. 13547]. •Valid as Copadichromis cyaneus (Trewavas 1935) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:306 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:53 [ref. 20944], Stauffer & Sato 2002:91 [ref. 26070], Stauffer & Konings 2006:12 [ref. 28633], Konings 2016:16 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Copadichromis cyaneus (Trewavas 1935). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
