Lectotype selected by Eccles & Trewavas 1989:233 [ref. 13547]. •Valid as Sciaenochromis gracilis (Trewavas 1935) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:233 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:440 [ref. 20944], Snoeks & Hanssens 2004:301 [ref. 28117]). •Valid as Mylochromis gracilis (Trewavas 1935) -- (Turner & Howarth 2001:206 [ref. 25642], Konings 2016:351 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Mylochromis gracilis (Trewavas 1935). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
