Lectotype: BMNH 1935.6.14.2341. Paralectotypes: (17) BMNH 1935.6.14.2339-2340 (2), 1935.6.14.2342-2347 (6), 1935.6.14.1348-2355 (8), 1935.6.14.2356 (1); NMW 25630 (1); MNHN 1937-0186 [ex BMNH] (1). Type catalog: Blanc 1962:210 [ref. 20868]. Lectotype selected by Eccles & Trewavas 1989:214 [ref. 13547]. •Valid as Maravichromis incola (Trewavas 1935) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:213 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:254 [ref. 20944]). •Valid as Mylochromis incola (Trewavas 1935) -- (Konings 2016:300 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Mylochromis incola (Trewavas 1935). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
