Lectotype selected by Eccles & Trewavas 1989:193 [ref. 13547]. •Valid as Trematocranus labifer (Trewavas 1935) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:193 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:516 [ref. 20944], Snoeks & Hanssens 2004:309 [ref. 28117], Konings 2016:413 [ref. 34521], Dierickx et al. 2018:163 [ref. 35849]). Current status: Valid as Trematocranus labifer (Trewavas 1935). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
