Lectotype: BMNH 1935.6.14.2357. Paralectotypes: (4) BMNH 1935.6.14.2358-2359 (2), 1935.6.14.2360 (1), 1935.6.14.2361 (1), 1935.6.14.2362 (1). Lectotype selected by Eccles & Trewavas 1989:222 [ref. 13547]. •Valid as Maravichromis mola (Trewavas 1935) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:221 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:255 [ref. 20944]). •Valid as Mylochromis mola (Trewavas 1935) -- (Snoeks & Hanssens 2004:287 [ref. 28117], Konings 2016:301 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Mylochromis mola (Trewavas 1935). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
