Holotype was not deposited at USNM as indicated in Jordan & Seale [ref. 2489] but was retained at SU. Current status: Valid as Upeneus luzonius Jordan & Seale 1907. Mullidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific. Habitat: marine.
