Holotype: CAS-SU 9244 (not USNM 53067). Paratypes: CAS-SU 20101 (2), USNM 53067 (2). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:80 [ref. 12291]. Holotype was not deposited at USNM as indicated in Jordan & Seale [ref. 2489] but was retained at SU. Current status: Valid as Upeneus luzonius Jordan & Seale 1907. Mullidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific. Habitat: marine.
