Lectotype selected by Eccles & Trewavas 1989:81 [ref. 13547]. •Valid as Nyassachromis serenus (Trewavas 1935) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:76 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:301 [ref. 20944], Konings 2016:326 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Nyassachromis serenus (Trewavas 1935). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
