Syntypes: BMNH 1906.9.8.106-109 (5, now 4), MNHN 1906-0005 (1, not found). •Valid as Neolamprologus multifasciatus (Boulenger 1906) -- (Maréchal & Poll 1991:286 [ref. 20946], Schelly et al. 2003:3 [ref. 27431]). •Valid as 'Lamprologus' multifasciatus Boulenger 1906 -- (Konings 2015:346 [ref. 34660]). Current status: Valid as Lamprologus multifasciatus Boulenger 1906. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Tanganyika. Habitat: freshwater.
