Holotype (unique): BMNH 1930.1.31.83. •Valid as Lethrinops longimanus Trewavas 1931 -- (Eccles & Lewis 1979:9 [ref. 6939], Eccles & Trewavas 1989:127 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:236 [ref. 20944], Ngatunga & Snoeks 2003:128 [ref. 26763], Snoeks & Hanssens 2004:285 [ref. 28117], Konings 2016:398 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Lethrinops longimanus Trewavas 1931. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
