Holotype (unique): BMNH 1897.6.9.256. •Synonym of Taeniolethrinops praeorbitalis (Regan 1922) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:261 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:468 [ref. 20944]). •Valid as Taeniolethrinops macrorhynchus (Regan 1922) -- (Konings 2016:386 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Taeniolethrinops macrorhynchus (Regan 1922). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Lake Malawi, Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
