Paralectotypes: (2) BMNH 1909.5.4.3 (1). Possible type in MSNG 12980 (now 6). Type catalog: Tortonese 1963:338 [ref. 10350]. Lectotype selected by Greenwood 1962:149 [ref. 5925]. •Valid as Haplochromis bayoni (Boulenger 1909) -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:108 [ref. 20956]). Current status: Valid as Haplochromis bayoni (Boulenger 1909). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Victoria. Habitat: freshwater.
