A.] 1898:148 [Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 1898 (pt 2); ref. 546] About 50 miles south of Mangala, probably at or near Monsembe, Middle Congo River. Holotype (unique): BMNH 1896.3.9.5. Replacement name for Pelmatochromis guentheri Boulenger 1896, supposedly secondarily preoccupied by Hemichromis guntheri Sauvage 1882 when both are in Pelmatochromis. •Valid as Tylochromis lateralis (Boulenger 1898) -- (Stiassny 1989:63 [ref. 20088], Stiassny 1991:528 [ref. 20964]). Replacement Name. Current status: Valid as Tylochromis lateralis (Boulenger 1898). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Central Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
