Type catalog: Ho & Shao 2011:20 [ref. 31432]. •Valid as Himantura microphthalma (Chen 1948) -- (Compagno 1999:496 [ref. 25589], Compagno in Randall & Lim 2000:583 [ref. 25122], Ho & Shao 2011:20 [ref. 31432] as microphthalmus). •Probably not in Himantura ; possibly close to Dasyatis acutirostra Nishida & Nakaya 1988 -- (Manjaji-Matsumoto & Last 2006:295 [ref. 28776]). •Valid as Dasyatis microphthalma Chen 1948 -- (Ebert et al. 2013:360 [ref. 33045] with question, Weigmann 2016:132 [ref. 34211]). •Possibly valid as Telatrygon microphthalma (Chen 1948).
