Holotype: USNM 132419. Paratypes: Rivas coll. [ex USNM 132420] (2), UMMZ 157691 [ex USNM 132420] (2), USNM 132420 (orig. 14, now 10). Type catalog: Faloh-Gandarilla et al. 2016:2 [ref. 35177]. •Synonym of Fundulus grandis Baird & Girard 1853, but a valid subspecies saguanus Rivas 1948 as described -- (Lee et al. 1980:516 [ref. 22416], Wildekamp 1996:256 [ref. 23649], Lazara 2001:147 [ref. 25711], Ross et al. 2001:361 [ref. 25978], Scharpf 2007:13 [ref. 30398]). •Valid as Fundulus saguanus Rivas 1948 -- (Wiley & Ghedotti 2003:1150 [ref. 27020], Faloh-Gandarilla et al. 2016:2 [ref. 35177]). Current status: Valid as Fundulus saguanus Rivas 1948. Fundulidae. Distribution: Cuba, possibly southern Florida [subspecies saguanus if treated as valid]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
