tessmanni, Alestes Pappenheim [P.] 1911:510, Fig. 1 [Mitteilungen aus dem Zoologischen Museum in Berlin v. 5 (no. 3); ref. 14797] Stream Bimfille bei Nschöba, Equatorial Guinea [about 1.45°N, 10.35°E]. Holotype: ZMB 18376. Paratypes: (3) Städtisches Museum Lübeck (2, destroyed in WWII), ZMB 18377 (1). Type catalog: Zarske 2011:62 [ref. 31375]. ZMB 18376 was considered by Pappenheim 1911 [ref. 3907] as type specimen. The remaining 3 specimens are therefore considered as paratypes. •Valid as Alestes tessmanni Pappenheim 1911 -- (Paugy 1984:159 [ref. 6183]). •Valid as Brycinus tessmanni (Pappenheim 1911) -- (Zarske 2011:62 [ref. 31375]). •Valid as Bryconalestes tessmanni (Pappenheim 1911) -- (Stiassny et al. 2023:597 [ref. 40595]). Current status: Valid as Bryconalestes tessmanni (Pappenheim 1911). Alestidae. Distribution: Western Central Africa: upper Benito River drainage, Equatorial Guinea. Habitat: freshwater.
