Original genus should have been Glyphidodon. Current status: Valid as Neopomacentrus filamentosus (Macleay 1882). Pomacentridae: Pomacentrinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Philippines and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), south to Australia and to Solomon Islands. Habitat: marine.
