Syntypes: whereabouts unknown. •Synonym of Alburnoides bipunctatus (Bloch 1782), but a valid subspecies -- (Lelek 1987:147 [ref. 22962]). •Synonym of Alburnoides bipunctatus (Bloch 1782) -- (Kottelat 1997:44 [ref. 22952], Vassilev & Pehlivanov 2005:166 [ref. 28369]). •Valid as Alburnoides strymonicus Chichkoff 1940 -- (Barbieri et al. 2015:42 [ref. 35029] with author in parentheses, Jouladeh-Roudbar et al. 2016:176 [ref. 34375], Barbieri et al. 2017:1086 [ref. 35663], Bektaş et al. 2019:[9] [ref. 36964]). Current status: Valid as Alburnoides strymonicus Chichkoff 1940. Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Distribution: Europe: Struma (Strymon) River basin (Bulgaria, Macedonia and Greece). Habitat: freshwater.
