Holotype: MNHN 1949-0020. Paratype: MNHN B-2547 (1). Type catalog: Desoutter et al. 2001:330 [ref. 25922]. •Synonym of Cynoglossus suyeni Fowler 1934 -- (Desoutter et al. 2001:330 [ref. 25922] but apparently in error). •Valid as Cynoglossus cadenati Chabanaud 1947 -- (Menon 1977:53 [ref. 7071], Desoutter 1990:1051 [ref. 18967], Munroe in Carpenter & De Angelis 2016:3036 [ref. 34618], Fricke et al. 2017:83 [ref. 35160], Naito & Endo 2019:[9] [ref. 36572], Fermon et al. 2022:235 [ref. 39448], Allen & Erdmann 2024:1365 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Cynoglossus cadenati Chabanaud 1947. Cynoglossidae: Cynoglossinae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Western Sahara south to Angola, including Cape Verde Islands. Habitat: marine.
