Syntypes: BMNH 1903.7.28.136-139 (4). •Valid as Phenacogrammus urotaenia (Boulenger 1909) -- (Paugy 1984:181 [ref. 6183], Amiet & Nzeyimana 1990:1 [ref. 19728], Gèry 1995:62 [ref. 22057], Paugy & Schaefer 2007:399 [ref. 30022], Stiassny et al. 2021:17 [ref. 38730], Fermon et al. 2022:149 [ref. 39448]). Current status: Valid as Phenacogrammus urotaenia (Boulenger 1909). Alestidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Cameroon, Gabon and Democratic Republic of Congo. Habitat: freshwater.
