emarginatus, Pomacentrus Cuvier [G.] 1829:179 [Le Règne Animal (Edition 2) v. 2; ref. 995] No locality. Cuvier & Valenciennes specimens: MNHN 0000-9656 (1) Waigiou. Type catalog: Bauchot et al. 1978:22-23 [ref. 20862] with Waigiou specimen as holotype (MNHN 9656). Available from footnote 5 as : "P[omacentrus] emarginatus, Seb., III, xxvii, 26, 27, 28." Also described in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1830:422 [ref. 999], but on specimen from Waigiou. •Valid as Pomacentrus emarginatus Cuvier 1829 -- (Allen 1991:250 [ref. 19344], Myers 1999:185 [ref. 23965], Allen 2001:3345 [ref. 26132] dated 1830, Allen & Adrim 2003:47 [ref. 26830], Allen & Wright 2003:136 [ref. 27247] dated 1830, Parenti 2021:75 [ref. 38418]). Current status: Valid as Pomacentrus emarginatus Cuvier 1829. Pomacentridae: Pomacentrinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Palau and New Guinea. Habitat: marine.
