The half skin is of the size of one specimen mentioned in the original description (pers. comm. J. Distribution: Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya), Mozambique Channel, Seychelles and Madagascar east to western Indonesia. Replaced in Réunion and Mauritius by Chromis torquata Allen 2018. Habitat: marine.
