Name is from Couch but specimen described is by Thompson who is regarded as the author. Appeared also in Thompson 1838:446 [ref. 19964] and in Couch, Cornish Fauna, 1838:39 [not yet investigated]. •Synonym of Centrolabrus exoletus (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Bauchot & Quignard 1973:430 [ref. 7204], Parenti & Randall 2000:7 [ref. 24943]). Current status: Synonym of Centrolabrus exoletus (Linnaeus 1758). Labridae. Habitat: marine.
