iagonensis, Labrus Bowdich [S. L.] 1825:234, Fig. 47 [Fishes of Madeira; ref. 590] Porta Praya, St. Jago Island, and River Gambia, western Africa. No types known. Emended to jagonensis apparently to agree with locality by Troschell 1866:229 [ref. 4465]. •Synonym of Bodianus speciosus (Bowdich 1825) -- (Parenti & Randall 2000:7 [ref. 24943], Parenti 2019:7 [ref. 36934]). Current status: Synonym of Bodianus speciosus (Bowdich 1825). Labridae. Habitat: marine.
