Holotype: CAS 5582. Paratypes: CAS 61205 (3); FMNH 69523 (1); USNM 109205 [ex CAS] (3), 109206 [ex CAS] (1). Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:19 [ref. 12367], Vari & Howe 1991:9 [ref. 19022]. No paratypes were designated but original description gives counts and measurements for 21 additional specimens form the type locality and 22 other specimens from a second locality -- they would be paratypes. •Valid as Brycon behreae Hildebrand 1938 -- (Howes 1982:11 [ref. 14201], Bussing 1987:74 [ref. 22927], Bussing 1998:90 [ref. 24179], Lima in Reis et al. 2003:175 [ref. 27061], Angulo et al. 2013:991 [ref. 33194], Angulo & Gracian-Negrete 2013:264 [ref. 32959], Angulo et al. 2020:5 [ref. 37425]). Current status: Valid as Brycon behreae Hildebrand 1938. Bryconidae: Bryconinae. Distribution: Central America: Pacific and Atlantic slopes of Panama, Pacific slope of Costa Rica. Habitat: freshwater.
