Paratypes: (79) BMNH. •Valid (but needs study) as Patagonotothen guentheri with 2 subspecies -- (Balushkin & Permitin 1982:13-14 [ref. 8990]). •Valid as Patagonotothen guntheri (Norman 1937) -- (Nakamura in Nakamura et al. 1986:246 [ref. 14235], DeWitt et al. 1990:312 [ref. 21696], Eastman & Eakin 2000:15 [ref. 24631], Balushkin 2000:S97 [ref. 29555], Eastman & Eakin 2021:[3] [ref. 38307], Kim et al. 2021:192 [ref. 39117], Chiaramonte et al. 2023:211 [ref. 40423]). Current status: Valid as Patagonotothen guntheri (Norman 1937). Nototheniidae: Nototheniinae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: Patagonia (Argentina) and Falkland Islands. Habitat: marine.
