Holotype: ZSM 22503a. Paratypes: ANSP 139721 (1); MHNG 2187.6 (3 of 4); ZSM 22503b (7 now 5), 22141a (6 now 4). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:55 [ref. 13621], Neumann 2011:245 [ref. 31652]. Current status: Valid as Diapoma terofali (Géry 1964). Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: Lower Paraná and Uruguay River basins (Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay). Habitat: freshwater.
