Current status: Valid as Hypleurochilus aequipinnis (Günther 1861). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Morocco south to central Angola, including Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands, and São Tomé and Principe. A similar species in western Atlantic (northern Gulf of Mexico) as H. cf. aequipinnis (Carter et al. 2023:2 [ref. 40556]). Habitat: marine.
