Paratypes: ZMB 32436 [ex ZMB 19626] (8), ZMB uncat. (4); BMNH 1927.6.8.1 (1); SMF 3916 (1). Types mentioned: Paepke 1995:92 [ref. 21847]. •Valid as Metynnis altidorsalis Ahl 1923 -- (Géry 1972:192 [ref. 1594], Zarske & Géry 1999:199 [ref. 23984], Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:183 [ref. 27061], Zarske & Géry 2008:175 [ref. 29917], Ota et al. 2016:10 [ref. 35002], Silvano et al. 2020:159 [ref. 38133], Ota et al. 2024:406 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Metynnis altidorsalis Ahl 1923. Serrasalmidae: Serrasalminae. Distribution: South America: northern and eastern Guiana Shield rivers, Amazon basin (Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
