Paralectotypes: MNHN B-3105 [ex MNHN A-2069] (2). Type catalog: Bauchot 1967:45 [ref. 20734]. Originally as geni-guttatus. Lectotype selected by Stephens & Springer 1974:20 [ref. 7149]. •Valid as Calliclinus geniguttatus (Valenciennes 1836) -- (Stephens & Springer 1974:20 [ref. 7149], Cervigón et al. 1979:46 [ref. 23538], Pequeño 1989:66 [ref. 14125], Pequeño 1999:174 [ref. 24566], Pequeño & Sáez B. 2005:155 [ref. 28604], Patzner et al. 2009:462 [ref. 30396], Sáez & Pequeño 2009:137 [ref. 30951], Koerber 2023:43 [ref. 40486]). Current status: Valid as Calliclinus geniguttatus (Valenciennes 1836). Labrisomidae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific: Chile. Records from Argentina are erroneous (Koerber 2023:43 [ref. 40486]). Habitat: marine.
