adanensis, Alburnus sellal Battalgil [F.] 1944:302 [Revue de la Faculté des Sciences de l'Université d'Instanbul, Série B: Sciences Naturelles v. 9 (no. 4); ref. 13159] Lower Seyhan River, near Adana, southern Turkey. Syntype: IUSHM 2017-1368. Author also seen as Battalgazi. Species probably extinct, Freyhof et al. 2018:580 [ref. 35814]. •Synonym of Alburnus sellal Heckel 1843, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Bogutskaya 1997:167 [ref. 23566], Bogutskaya et al. 2000:56 [ref. 24445]). •Synonym of Alburnus sellal Heckel 1843 -- (Birecikligil et al. 2016:471 [ref. 34308], Çiçek et al. 2016:117 [ref. 35152]). •Valid as Alburnus adanensis Battalgil 1944 -- (Fricke et al. 2007:29 [ref. 29533], Çiçek et al. 2015:145 [ref. 35151], Çiçek et al. 2018:8 [ref. 36267], Freyhof et al. 2018:580 [ref. 35814], Çiçek et al. 2020:250 [ref. 37644]). Current status: Valid as Alburnus adanensis Battalgil 1944. Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Distribution: Asia Minor: Seyhan River basin (Mediterranean tributary) (Turkey). Habitat: freshwater.
