Appeared first without distinguishing features in Schmidt 1903:520 (18 of separate) [ref. 3945]. •Synonym of Lycodes palearis Gilbert 1896, but a valid subspecies -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1975:157 [ref. 7348], Sokolovskaya et al. 1998:12 [ref. 24670], Shinohara et al. 2011:51 [ref. 31715], Shinohara et al. 2014:266 [ref. 33330]). •Valid as Lycodes fasciatus (Schmidt 1904) -- (Toyoshima 1985:214 [ref. 5722], Anderson 1994:118 [ref. 21438], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:720 [ref. 25968], Sheiko & Fedorov 2000:36 [ref. 25650], Møller 2001:111 [ref. 25378], Fedorov et al. 2003:113 [ref. 27579], Anderson & Fedorov 2004:24 [ref. 27603], Nelson et al. 2004:158 [ref. 27807], Balushkin et al. 2011:993 [ref. 32449], Page et al. 2013:162 [ref. 32708], Parin et al. 2014:410 [ref. 33547], Mecklenburg et al. 2016:173 [ref. 34440], Dyldin & Orlov 2021:838 [ref. 38925]).
