Current status: Valid as Gymnammodytes capensis (Barnard 1927). Ammodytidae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic, southwestern Indian Ocean: Angola south to Cape of Good Hope (South Africa), then north to southern Mozambique. Habitat: marine.
