Current status: Valid as Hemigrammus unilineatus (Gill 1858). Acestrorhamphidae: Pristellinae. Distribution: South America: rivers of Trinidad, coastal river basins of Venezuela, and of Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana; Guaporé and Amazon River basins (Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
